Experience and Skills: At least 3 years of experience in CNC lathe manufacturing, with proficiency in reading micrometers, verniers, thread gauges, and drop indicators. Familiarity with blueprint reading for at least 2 years.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of cutting tools, machining practices, and the ability to perform complex calculations using trigonometric formulas and shop mathematics.
Work Authorization and Location: Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Local candidates only, as no relocation is available. Ability to commute to Billerica, MA, required.
Responsibilities:
Program and Operate CNC Machines: Program, set up, and operate CNC machine tools, such as multi-axis lathes, taking various metal types from raw stock to finished product independently.
Technical Machining Tasks: Plan and lay out work from customer drawings and specifications, determine speeds, feeds, tolerances, and sequence of operations, and make all necessary machine adjustments.
Quality Assurance: Use specialized measuring instruments like vernier calipers, micrometers, surface gauges, profilometers, CMM, vision systems, and dial indicators to ensure high-quality finished products.
Mathematical Calculations: Utilize trigonometric formulas and shop mathematics to calculate complex component angles and dimensions for precise machining.
